🎨 조선 춘화 — THE REAL EROTIC ART OF JOSEON
One of the most fascinating elements of The Scandal is that its erotic world has a genuine historical reference point.
Korea had 춘화 (春畵 / Chunhwa) — erotic paintings also known as 춘화도, 운우도, and 춘궁화.
These works depicted sexual relationships directly and were created in part for erotic stimulation. They could portray unclothed bodies, intimate encounters and sexuality with a frankness that sharply contrasts with the restrained public image commonly associated with Confucian Joseon society.
